  1. I have found it is best just to go to the dealer for most interior replacement parts.

For GM parts there is partszoneonline.com. Even using that the correct part# isn't always clear. And using a dealer still doesn't guarantee the correct part will be ordered.

I don't know of an equivalent Lexus/Toyota parts web site. I would think if there isn't a big aftermarket demand for the parts most are going to be dealer only anyway.

Of course you can always use car-part.com to do a junkyard search.

I know I didn't really answer you question but I hope it helped a bit anyway.

Thanks so much, can anyone tell me what the name of this interior part (worn) is called. I am trying to get a economical replacement?

  2. Hello,

Where is the best most economical place "ONLINE" to replace worn interior parts. I have a tan interior and some of the plastic parts such as the plastic covers in the foot area and door jam areas are showing quite a bit of wear. I have looked on EBAY and Park Place Lexus but I do not know the correct names of the items I need. A diagram would be nice, any help is greatly appreciated.

  3. Hello,

Oversized tires for RX 300 (99) are Barely touching shocks on both back tires. where can I get a 3/8" to 1/2" expansion flange to widen back stance of vehicle and give me a little more room between tire and rear shocks. PS I have been riding these tires for 10000 miles and I see some slight scrubbing but not much. I do not want to replace tires since they were so expensive.

    Thanks

  4. It will be on Ebay less the two pieces I need on 8/22 I need piece two and three. Shoot me an email if anyone wants to buy. I have $205 with shipping for the entire kit. my email is agrimentservices@yahoo.com

  5. Hello,

I was wandering if anyone new where to get specific parts of a dash kit for a Lexus RX 300 99 model. Most of the folks I have asked will not sell me the individual parts I need, they will only sell an entire kit. I only need parts 2 and 3 of the attached drawing in the walnut finish. Any help is appreciated.

  6. I have been batling this one for months I own a 99 RX 300 and have been searching and trying to cut the check engine light out. The code is P0441 and I have done the following:

    1. Replaced the Gasket for the Gas Cap

    2. Had installed a new Vacuum Switch Valve

    3. Had all vacuum hoses re-seated

    4. Checked around the Air Filter for loose hoses (did purchase and install an aftermarket Air Filter) would this cause check engine light to come on.

    5. I have tried to get some local mechanics to check the charcoal cannister but none seem to know much about it.

Each time I drive it I pull the 13A EFI fuse and the Check Engine Light will go out for around 80 - 100 miles and it is back on. I do not want to go to the Lexus Dealer and get hit between the eyes when it seems there is nothing much wrong with my rx.

What do I need to do next? My vehicle runs fine and nothing seems to be wrong with it other than that damn light. I have contemplated doing a smoke test to see if there is pinhole leak somewhere.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  7. It seems to be running fine. I was wandering if this diagnostic code maybe effecting gas mileage? It runs great but I am a little dissapointed that the gas mileage is not as good as I initially thought. I am getting somewhere around 18-19 miles to the gallon does that sound about right? I really appreciate your response and you have been a great help with other things also.

Sounds as if you've got a very difficult condition to locate.  Have you spoken to any Lexus service managers or technicians about it?  I know they'll say that you need to bring it in for diagnostics, but if you can get a knowledgeable individual on the phone for a few minutes, they may give you some ideas on where to look next.

I think your best do-it-yourself step right now is to check the fittings and connections on as many of your vacuum lines as you can get to.  I wouldn't be surprised if the problem turns out to be a loose connection at a joint rather than a pinhole leak in the middle of a hose somewhere.  It may be as simple as replacing a hard-to-find hose somewhere in your configuration.  Vacuum leaks can be quite difficult for the average shade-tree mechanic to find, but the next thing I'd do would be to unplug, clean, and reseat every vacuum hose I could get to.

How is your vehicle running?  If performance has remained normal throughout your ordeal, you may want to simply monitor the situation until it becomes easier to detect.  But I hear you loud and clear  -  I prefer to find and fix "check engine" light problems just as soon as they come up.  Like you, I despise having to stare at that light on the dash.  Keep us posted on what you determine and good luck.

  8. I have done the following to try and find the EVAP problem on my 99 RX 300. It is not the gas cap, and it is not the Vacuum Switch Valve. I have replaced both and still have that damn check engine light. I can reset this code by pulling the EFI fuse or disconnecting the bat cable. It usually returns in about 100 miles of driving and again the code is P0446. Is there any cheap way to check for leaks in the vacuum hosing, gas tank, charcoal cannister etc. I have heard of a smoke test is this expensive? Just trying to get that light off it is driving me nuts. Any help would be appreciated.

  9. Hello,

The Windshield Washer Motor on my 99 lex rx 300 has gone bad. I had the fuses checked and the mechanic said it was definitely the motor. Has anyone experienced this problem? Any solutions? Best places to purchase this part for the money? As always all help is appreciated.

  10. DId you get a receipt/email from them state that they got you request?  I have the phone number from the last order at work; I will post it tomorrow so you could call them directly!  How about calling the local dealer?  They are selling these for around $80 with tax; if you need them right away it might well worth it...

could you please post the #

    thanks

  11. I went to the links provided and sent two emails requesting a Vacuum Switch Valve Price and a PCV valve price. I put in my VIN # and everything this was two days ago. They did not respond. any ideas or suggestions.

I really want to get these parts as cheaply and asap. before X-mas.

  12. Bank 1 is the one before the catalytic converter and underneath the vehicle.  The bank 2 sensor is in front of the engine and can be seen from underneath the hood.  I am almost certain both sensors are interchangeable.  Your problem is the one underneath the vehicle.  I am not certain if the sensor underneath the hood is called the bank 2.

I only needed the bank one to solve my problem. I am sure they want you to buy them both.

  14. search this forum for the following code P1133 and you will find a wealth of good posts on this topic. I found my bank one on ebay for cheap. I would not suggest the aftermarket brands as the wiring does not match up.

  15. It would really be nice if someone could post that material.  I need it to check out to try and address the P0446 code that is related to the charcoal cannister ( of which I do not know where it is)

Please post if you can this repair manual.  I also have a RX 300 99 model.

What did the administrator say about you posting the manual? Please do if it is allowable.

  16. Hello,

Can anyone give me the best prices (links) and place to obtain a Vacuum Switch Valve for a 1999 Lexus RX 300. Thienn on this board gave me some good information about my P0446 (triggers check engine light to remain on) problem and I want to change out this part befor I replace the Charcoal Cannister in hopes that will solve my problem. I was unable to go to the site he referenced as Plano Lexus in my previous problem.

    Thanks

    Geno K

  17. I don't know where the charcoal canister for the RX is but if you know where the Vacuum Switch  Valveis then it should be easy to trace it back.  The Canister is connected to the VSV so just follow the hose backward and you will find it (it usually locates by the firewall).  I have the same check engine light  for the same code (Evaporator) with my 1996 SC400; took me awhile to figure it out. So here we go:

-Check your gas cap and make sure it is still nice and tight; it should make a suckling noise when you open the cap.  If not, replace the gas cap gasket (less than 5 buck.

-Get a volt meter and check the resistance between the two terminal!  It should be between 27-33 ohm when cold (room temperature)  if not it should be replaced.  Also check it when hot (after driving for half an hour or so) or put it in a 90 degrees C oven (make sure you clean it throroughly to get rid of the gas vapor) or it will catch on fire.  I put it on a convection oven at work so I don't have to worry about spark.  If it is anything over 35 ohm then it should be replaced.  This was the problem with my VVS; the resistance goes up as it getting hotter.

-You could also check the canister but I doubt it is the cause of the problem.  The ECU is sensing the current (resistance) thru the VVS and give the warning light so check the VSV first and replace it if neccessary!  The VSV is only 50 bucks (with Free Shipping from Plano Lexus; the dealer will charge over 80 bucks plus tax) and the canister will set you back over 250 bucks so whatever you do change the VSS first.  I did all these and found that my VSS' resistance would goes up as it gets hot.  I replaced it and reset the ECU; the check engine light had gone for over 6k miles

-Also, replace the PVC while you at it (it should locate on the valve cover somewhere).

I hope this help to fix your problem! Thienn

Thank you so much. You have been a great help. I will follow your protocol and keep you posted.

  19. A repair manual right? If you do then start testing all related parts.

Do not have a repair manual is there a place I can get one for my truck?

Try Ebay. You should check out what SKperformance said about the recall first though.

SKperformance, do you have any more information on this Code problem. I have seen the technical service bulletin on this code problem but the vin numbers it applies to does not cover my vehicle. I had a mechanic check the hoses to and from the Charcoal Cannister he found no problems? I Would love to get this code taken care of and get that ck engine light off? Thanks
