  1. Hello everybody, just thought I would pop in to share some of the pictures from my recent

excusrsion through WA, OR, and NorCal. We wanted to go to San-Franscisco, but it would have

cost a little more money than we were comfortable with, so we decided to nix it and stick to the Pacific

Coast Hwy, Redwood Forest, the Lava Beds, Klamath upper and lower Wildlife Refuges, and Crater Lake.

A small tidbit of info that many people may not know, if you want to visit state/national parks,

and you happen to go in the winter, the rates and fees are often highly discounted, or even free.

My wife and I visited 4 national parks, and all but 1 was free of charge in the winter months.

The pix are in order of the trip, and are numbered. If you would like High-Res photos, PM me

with your email and I would be happy to oblige. :) I apologize in advance for the excessive photos

of my truck, but this post is cross posted on the Ram Forum. It took me about 5 hours to resize/upload and

get this post coded, so I really only wanted to do it once...and being that we are all enthusiasts here,

I figured noone would mind anyway.

  2. Sitting at Kandahar Air Field, at the USO. Free net FTW!

Diggin' the site changes around here too ya'll. :D

Glad to hear you are back! Site changes look great don't they...

Absolutely. And I am not back...yet. Still sitting in Kuwait. 0200hrs is wheels up.

Josh, You and The wifey certainly deserve time off, Have fun , Looking forward to the pic's.

You will get them ASAP :)

  3. Hi Everyone,

Thanks for all the great advice that I have read from the site!!! I have a 92 LS 400 w/ 110,000 miles on it. Baby it all the time. The timing belt broke - really melted!!! I had it replaced along with all the related parts ,tensions, seals etc,. Plus now was the time to change cap and wires. After 50 miles the check engine light came on. It was code 25 - lean fuel mixture. all o2 sensors are fine. Dealer can not figure out the problem?? Could the broken timing belt cause something else to come unglued??? Runs fine except for the check engine light??

Thank You in advance of all of your advice.

Check the waterpump, camshaft position sensors, crankshaft position sensors...theres a hundred possibilities.

Did the dealer tear the engine apart? DId they set the pistons/crank/cams to the right positions before reinstalling the belt? All these are questions we need the answers to. Your engine is non-interference, so I doubt you did anything too awful. Probably just a sensor somewhere.

  4. Starting the 15th of January, I will leave Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan, bound for the good ol' US of A. My leave starts on the 20th of January, and runs through the 5th of February. My travels will take me from Camp Leatherneck to Kandahar Airfield, where I will sit for 2-3 days, then to Ali-Al-Saleem Air Base in Kuwait City, Kuwait where I will sit for 2-3 days. Then a layover in Dubai, U.A.E., another in Hahn, Germany, then yet another one at the USO Hub in Atlanta GA. Then from there to Seattle.

My leave plans are throwing on my new mods, doing christmas with the wife, and driving to Northern California to see the Seirra Nevada's, Lake Tahoe, the Lava Beds, the Redwood Forest and whatever else tickles our fancy down that way. The plan is to take I-5 south to US-30, and US-30 west to US-101. Then we are going to take that down to Crescent City. On the way back we will take I-5 north stopping in Portland for some family stuff, then back to Seattle. All-in-all, I expect it to set us back about $500. $250 for gas and $250 for hotel/B&B stays. Not bad for a mini-vacation/getaway (which offhand, is something we desperately need.)

Here is the kicker. I promised the wife, absolutely NO LOC, RamForumZ, or FaceBook from the computer...oh well, still got the phone... . So for those 3-4 weeks, I will be off the boards, but expect lots of pix when I return.

  5. Who buys Christmas gifts for their truck? Thats right...this ol' redneck.

    Lund Revalation Tonneau Cover

Griot's Garage 3 Inch Orbital Polisher and pads kit

    Sonnax Transmission Line Pressure Booster

    Sprectre SRI

    Assorted LED's

    DeeZee Tailgate EZ Down Damper

    Rampage LED Taillight bar

When I get home for R&R leave in 3 weeks, its on. I also have a Curt CLIII Reciever, new HIDs', Westin smoked bug shield, Stubby antenna and a few other things to throw on, before a trip to Redwood and Sequoia National Parks in California. The Sierra Nevada's are BEAUTIFUL in late january.

  6. Well, the two of you jokers, I'd just blackmail! Especially you, SW03ES! Or, is it SWG35??? ;-)

I'm republican boys. I play dirty, can't recall, and will see and raise your photographic proof with baseless and false accusations that will taint the jury just enough, to let me go free!

Heh...Rob...I just have one thing to say...

    November-Oscar...Bravo Alpha-Lima-Lima-Sierra...

    Over.

  7. Took my cell phone long enough to post that last reply..geezz!Here are a couple of photos from my phone about 30 minutes ago in my parking garage. Dealership is around the corner from my office. I'll get more later (and better). Drives very nice, for the whole 4 miles I've driven it so far. Have an appointment next week to take it in for them to finish up the reconditioning for the certification. A couple of seats have some scratches, minor nicks here and there, the cosmetic stuff. 32k miles in nearly 4 years of ownership by the previous owner, is pretty good! Volvo warranty covers the entire car until 100k miles or 1/1/2014, whichever happens first. Sold to me by the original dealer who sold it the first time, and serviced it. I didn't negotiate on the price, but rather on the trade value of the 4runner. They gave me $11k for it. Considering I paid like $18.5k in 2007 for it, drove it 52k miles, and barely spent a dime on it (minus brakes and tires), I said "you've got a deal". I think he was surprised actually that I didn't haggle further. I told him that I don't work for free and I don't expect him too either. Could've haggled for a few hundred here or there, but at the end of the day, if you want it, and you can buy it, then just buy it and enjoy it, which is exactly what I did today. Now I'm off to go show my wife her new car! This will easily be the nicest car she has ever owned, by a million miles! Helps to distract from the heaviness of what's happening in NC for us at the moment. Some men go to the bar...I go car shopping. Go figure! You ever see me in a Ferrari, you'll know I probably lost one of my parents (and my mind).

Nice brother! Meghan and I like those too!

My son woke up this morning, looked outside at the driveway, and frantically said: "where's the blue car!!!?? I want the blue car!!" I'm probably going to pay for this later with the therapy bills, but I had to tell him that Santa needed to take it to the North Pole to help get his sleigh back home. He responded "Oh, ok, Rudolph must be tired, huh daddy". I laughed. He then said "why isn't mommy's new car blue though?" Kids....

    Kids eh? gotta love 'em.

  8. $3.85 x.x My friend has been talking about trying to hook his car up using a hydrogen system but I don't think I'm gonna try that on my LFA if I had something I didn't care too much about I would consider it but shes my baby x.x

We have an LFA owner? What car do you have? Which build #?

  9. Were ANY other windows down in the car? even cracked? If so, uneven pressure combined with a flaw in the glass was probably the cause. I am referring to the helicopter effect (the noise you hear in some cars when windows are only cracked and not all the way open) and it can cause glass failure if the glass has impurities or is flawed.

  10. I really dont think the HS is nessecary in the market today. For what it is, I think people would rather just option out a prius. As for me, I would rather have an HS any day. I never thought the car was ugly or awkward, and I have always thought the Pruis was (until the last redesign).

  12. Thats right! Fair and balanced by friend...fair and balanced LOL

Wow...lol, just wow. You two crack me up.

gabep, I think you should stick around, especially if you own a lexus. Hell, I havent owned one in nearly a decade, but I am still here because it is a great community (albeit a little small). If our opinions dont matter to you than that sucks, But I (and many others) have fought (I am still fighting, 3rd tour) and been wounded in combat, so that you could voice your opinion and have it vauled. Just because we may not agree with you does not mean we dont value your opinions. You can have one without the other.
