the alt has nothing to do with no start the ALT just charges the battery if your battery is at 12.6 volts and it still doesnt start then you have another problem so if you checked the fueses and relays and there good then, your gonna have to test the starter and check the solenoid

dam .....u scrapped it because of some small part

check your ground wires too i have had my lexus start on me with 11.8 -12.0 volts when the ALT wasnt charging

so does it run now ? did u check the am1 fuse? any of the injector plugs left off? if one is off i will not start and wen u say it clicks is it a loud click like from the starter or a click that sounds like the relay clicking

Hey guys i have a 1990 LS400 i recently cleaned out the egr port and the PCV port. and a day later the car shakes when it drives. code 25 comes up for air fuel device lean, feels like a miss fire but it is not miss firing at all i checked all vacuum hoses there fine so far have not found a intake leak i only have an exhaust leak before the main cat, thats about it. and yes this kills the power too u have to step a bit farther for it to go. i am so puzzled i even cleaned the AMF. im starting to think that i should take the intake runners apart n clean it out. but yea every time u go into reverse it studders/ shakes. and same when u drive. some say it could be the o2 sensor but i dont know at the moment. thanks for your responses

I hav stripped the passenger side fuel rail anyone noe any sites or suppyers that hav it lexus dosent hav this part no more please help mee

yea well the was i see is all toyota cars that i hav worked on are pretty simple and i thought lexus would be the same but still in general the LS is pretty easy to work on that is once super warn out contacts

hey so i did the starter now im wondering y does this starter fail i mean toyota obviously desigend it so that the starter would never fail thats y its in a difficult position and i did the starter wit out taking the rear water bypass joint out

very odd in neutral ur rpm is abit higher then in drive could be ur fuel system

might not be ur speedo could be a ur tach sensor and the wheel speed sensor never noe

having real difficulties doing this starter its a hard job all my small hoeses r on so tight the EGR ones anyone got pictures of theirs? lik pictures froom start to finish cuz im reading of something i printed off alldata

hey guys i just recently bought a ls 400 1990 umm wuts the common problems i wanna get them all fixed so far i have herd Power steering rack pinion leaks would that be the rack seals? some one said Ball joints Hood shocks go over time but yea any other problems?
