  1. I report my 04 RX330 front windows wind noise to Park Place Lexus Dealer, and just have a test drive with a technician after he fixes it. He told me that Lexus provide the replacement for the inside, bottom window seal. At first, it sounds strange to me. I thought they should replace the upper window seal. But the fact is the wind noise now is gone.

I check the RX330 loaner car, that also has the wind noise, and figure out that when the window is pushed up too hard, its bottom is pushed out and cause the gap between window and the inside seal. Probably, Lexus Engineers fix the problem by making a longer seal that can still block the noise.  :)

They also fix the rattle noise from my dash. Hooray!

    UPDATE:

Here are the parts info from my invoice. I do not fully understand all the item, but hope it will help you to talk to your dealer.

  2. My 2004 RX330 also had the dash rattle noise problem. Luckily, my Lexus dealer successfully fixes it. Here are the information I got:

Another common problem on RX330 is wind noise when front windows are fully up (check other RX330 forum). My dealer fixes my RX wind noise problem with the following kits:

  3. Park Place Lexus fixes my 04 Rx330 front windows wind noise. The technician told me that Lexus provides the improved inside, bottom window seal. I check on the loaner, which also has that noise, and figure out that when the window is pushed up too hard, its bottom is pushed out, and leave a gap between window and the window seal.

Probably, the new seal is longer to not leaving a gap. If your Lexus dealer does not know about this fix, they did not work hard enough!

They also fix my dash rattle.

  5. Well, I hate to say it- butr there are those times when I get filthy on the job. I wanted something that I could quickly slip over the seat when the going gets dirty. I agree- I love the leather and wouldn't leave it on. BTW- what do you find works best in maintaining the leather?

I may not be the best person to answer this since I am a lazy guy! But I try to apply some leather conditioner once a year. Between that, leather wipes are the quickest way to go. :whistles:

  6. We have side impact bags, but not in the seats!

Why in the world would you want to cover up the nice leather seats??  Might as well have bought cloth seats

I completely agree with Booyah, why you want to spend money for leather seat and then attempt to hide them? By the way, in my opinion, put cover seat on may damage the leather in 2 ways. First, cloth cover constantly rubs on leather may dries and cracks it. Second, with cover seat on, it is not easy to know when leather needs treatments.

On the bright side, you may claim that you have a unique Lexus with cloth seat! :)

  7. My clock is set to DayLight Savings Time - Auto On, but it didnt automatically change the time eather.    I have a 2005 RX330.

My understanding is Auto on just means that it update time according to GPS signal; but we still have to turn DST on or off manually. Just twice a year, not a big problem. :whistles:

  8. I've noticed on my RX330 that the automatic window feature raises the window slightly too high and bows the window seal slightly(the area where the window comes out of the door) (I stumbled upon this problem by just bumping the window down and noticed the change in road noise) Bumping the window back down slightly, restores the seal and significantly reduces road noise coming through this door/ window area seal.

I obviously notice this most on the driver's side but the passenger side is the same way.

Lexus attempted a fix once, but only was able to destroy the door panel in the process. It would seem the closing stop could be adjusted, but maybe not.

Anyone have a similar problem? Fixes? TSB?

    Thx in advance.

Thank you for your info. My 2004 RX330 also has that window seal problem. I am wondering that if installing WeatherFlector side window deflectors www.weathertech.com will keep the seal in place, and fix the noise problem???

  9. I have used them on all 3 of my RX's and my GS..  For looks, they are good but the purpose they serve is better..

I agree. WeatherTech window deflector looks much better than the external ones, and serves well. The only draw back is the window glides on the deflector in the last couple of inches. The sound may be annoying. I had the external deflector, then switch to WeatherTech on my previous Sienna. I still question about should I have it for my RX330. It is hot in Dallas!

  10. I have K&N air filter installed in my previous Sienna 2000. I can feel the van pick up faster at normal accelerate throttle, but about the same at full throttle. Definitely, gas mileage is improved. In general, I am happy with it.

Now, I am ordering the TRD air filter for my new RX330. It will arrive tomorrow. Some discussions say that K&N filter may harm the engine either by letting dust inside, or oil the sensor. These make me nervous to install the TRD air filter. I hope that TRD is from Toyota, and they should think twice before design those high performance filters. Do you have any suggestion?

    Any comment/suggestion is appreciated <_<
