  1. LarryP, Once I started to take the fan clutch out, I realized why you would use 2 wrenches hehe.. I was able to get 3 bolts off without any problems. I just used a flat head screw driver to help get the fourth one off. Was lucky that the bolts where not that tight. As for torque, I agree with you. I just got them good and tight. The replacement part was really nice, it had more clearance and easier to get the wrench in the space to tighten to bolts. Automotive place wanted 375 bucks to do the work. I bought the fan clutch for 57 bucks and did it myself! Thanks!
  2. The fan clutch seems to be easy to take off. I still do not understand the instructions about using two wrench to remove the four bolts. As for installing the new fan clutch, what is the recommended torque on the bolts for the fan clutch? Also what is the torque recommendation for the bolts for the fan? Thanks,
  3. I found three websites where you can buy the cabin air filter for a 1993 LS400 Site 1 Site 2 Site 3
  4. Hi all... I had Jim Walker repair my custer for me and everything works GREAT!!! Thanks Jim!!!! Doing business with Jim was great. He was friendly and very quick on returning emails. I paid Jim through his ebay auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...sspagename=WDVW The doument was good. A couple of things I ran into when trying to get the cluster out that is not really pointed out in the document. 1. When you first take the 3 screws off in the first step, on a 1993 LS 400 lexus there are 3 snaps on the bottom. Two are to the left of the stearing column and one to the far right on the stear column. You need to PULL THEM straight out towards you. This is a pain!!! 2. The connectors are a PITA. Each connector has to be disconnected by pushing in a tab button that will release them. Well if you do not have long finger nails, (my are short to keep me from biting them :) ) then it really hard to get them disconnected. I had to use a very short flat head screw driver to get them to disconnect. Three of the connectors are hard to reach in the cramp space. Lexus dealer told me it would cost 1400 dollars to have them replace the boards (which will have the same defect!!!!). 225 via Jim is a much better option. If you have this problem.... GO THRU JIM!!!!!!! Great guy and my dashboard FINALLY WORKS when I startup my lexus!! THANKS AGAIN JIM!!!!!!!
  5. Car has lap belt. Thanks for the info... If I cannot get it correct I will head to the nearest fire department or police office and have them help me.
  6. Hi, I currently own a 1993 LS400. I just bought and attached the anchor for the tether for my child's carseat. She is old enough and has the weight now to be forward facing. The problem I am having is that this car does not have the latch system and I am faced with using the middle seat's lap belt to secure the car seat. My question is how do you secure it tight enough that the front part does not move. Right now I can move the front part like 1 to 2 inches. Any tools or tricks to reduce this movement? Thanks,
