  1. My '90 LS has just hit 131k and runs as good as ever!
  2. A bushing in or on your starter might be worn out a little and binding the starter up slightly therefore creating more draw.
  3. I just sold my '83 300 Turbo diesel with 84k on it to get my '90 LS. The old 123 bodystyle is by far the most dependable one there is. Before this one I had a '79 greymarket wagon, nonturbo that was bulletproof with over 180k miles. It's life was ended by an 18 wheeler in '97.
  4. THANKS!!!!! I'll definetly check them out. If someone happens to have the ownersmanual and wouldn't mind scanning that page for me, that would awesome!! I'll try to return the favor anyday.
  5. I need to replace my valvecover gaskets. Does anyone know of a good place to get them at? Maybe at a discount of some sort. Also, are the websites that offer directions or pointers? Thanks for the help.
  6. I've always bought the extended warranty on all vehicles I've owned and for one reason or another I've always seem to come out ahead on them as well. Even on My civic I've had many years ago, it saved me about $3500 in the longrun. Now I have my '90 LS and I bought one as well. It has 113k on it and I don't expect anything to go wrong with it anytime soon, BUT if it does, I also know it won't be cheap to fix. Besides the warranty I bought covers just about everything, even down to the seatmotors and A/C. So if my A/C compressor decides to give up live, it'll cost me $50 and it just paid for the warranty. Kind of like carinsurance. I've never had an accident, ever, yet I pay month after month, just in case I do oneday.
  7. GT3 is king of the hill.. always will be. At least 'till GT4 comes out. Can't wait. Since you guys are all GT fans, does anyone do Project Gotham Racing 2 on Xbox Live? I'm on there all the time. Would be cool to see some of you guys there and swap some paint.
  8. I have the same problem I just posted seperatly. Didn't catch this post in time I guess..sorry. I will try the EGR Valve and work my way through a tune up from there. Something has to fix this problem. I will post which part made a difference when I'm done.
  9. Thanks guys!! Will do as soon as I get a day off which isn't anytime soon. Thinking about a roadtrip to Nebraska next month and I want her to run perfect. One more thing. I need to replace the Belt, which I already have, but I also need to replace the Valvecover gaskets. They have a slight leak and the smell of the oil hitting the headers is driving me nutts. They look to be a bit of a pain to do. Any pointers from anyone that's done them? In Case you can't tell..I'm all about DIY :D
  10. To start things, Nice board you guys have here. Never knew that there were that many people into Lexus'. But now I know why. I just bought a '90 LS400 with 113k miles and it's a dream of a car. Couldn't be happier with it. I do have one problem with it though. When I'm driving it at a steady speed, let's say down the freeway, at a very light throttle, basically touching the throttle enough to maintain speed but not accelerate, it seems to just fall on itself for a splitsecond. Almost like the engine quits and gets going again. I've looked for similar posts and found some where people have problems with the car speeding up on them unintentionally, but I have the exact opposite problem. Has anyone had this happen to their car or does someone know a cure? I'm open to suggestions on this one. I'm used to much older and simpler cars and trucks like my '64 Chevy longbed I'm restoring. Thanks guys and keep up the good work.
