  1. I just purchased a set of Nitto NT420S XL tires from discounttiredirect.com. 255/55/18 They are SWEET! They definetely add to the overall looks of the ride and make it a little more "manly!" The tread pattern is aggressive yet FULLY FUNCTIONAL! I know because of all the gully washers we have had lately! They resist hydroplaning well and are super sticky! The sidewalls are strong and aid in poor traction during body roll. Ill post pictures soon. I think they look great...heck...even better than the Response Edge that some have purchased.
  2. I just put on some Nitto NT420S from discounttiredirect.com 255/55/18 Wow what a tire! Aggressive tread, excellent in rain, sticky, and they give the 400h a nice overall look! However, do not expect them to be as quiet as the Michelins. You get a little road noise...but not enough to justify the BIG MONEY you would spend on other tires!
  3. ok guys....I bought it for myself. My wife drives the Genesis 4.6...1 mile to work and back everyday. (HOLY COW...WHAT A MACHINE!) I drive the 400h...30 miles to work and back everyday. I was worried about my ego there for a while...so I spent some money. $250 hitch...Hey...love the SUV NUTS $600 Nitto NT420s 255/55/18 tires. MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE in looks! Put a nice little PING sticker on the rear glass. Yes, I golf...a lot! However...if I were a single man I would have no problem picking up the ladies (the RIDE of course...not my looks...HA)! When my wife rides with me she notices other women noticing and just STARES at me! What should I do? Well, I lean over and plant a whopper right on her cheek! :) Definitely a WOMANS car...but you can turn it into a mans ride with a little cash and a ball bag hanging off the rear. B)
  4. Well...I did a ton of research myself over the past few weeks. I just purchased the Nitto NT420s in 255/55/18. $556 to my front door. Out of all the tires in this size, at www.discounttiredirect.com, these had the best overall rating among consumers within an affordable price range. That said enough for me. Of course, this tire is different than most...design wise, but I look more for function than glamor. I am a bit nervous on the overall diameter, but if need be, Ill keep my golf clubs in the rear to help things out! They are NOT a directional tire...according to NITTO.com which means they can be rotated all over the place. Here they are on a VW Toureg (sp?)
  5. Than I will assume ordering a set of Yokohama Parada Spec-X 245/60/18's will fit fine??? Or am I assuming wrong? Thanks
  6. Well...new here by the way... I am looking at the Yokohama Parada Spec-X tires for my 07 400h. I have the 18" wheels. Nothing but GREAT reviews on TIRERACK.COM. However...I want to go a tid bit wider and taller...So my question to all the guru's is... The stock is 235/55/18 and I want to go with a 245/60/18. Will they rub? I would rather not hear about how I should stay with the OEM tire sizes because it could change the geometry, trig, algebra...of the suspension. Honestly, you would be wasting your precious time. LOL!!! I read in a different forum where some are running 255/55/18's...thats a little much for me.
