AC/Alternator belt replacement
Hey guys. So I was just outside trying to replace my AC/Alternator belt. The old one shredded itself last night, barely made it home on battery power only. New belt came today. After doing some quick research I see what is involved in getting the alternator to pivot down, in order to give me enough slack to be able to slide the new belt on. Problem is, the alternator doesn't pivot down enough and there's really no way to get leverage to pry/force it on. I'm wondering if anyone has had this probl

Reset after replacing battery
Do I need to do a reset after replacing battery in my 2016 RX350 and how do I reset? Thanks.
RX350 shifter
Okay, I am 72 years old, but my mind is sharp...why was the shifter designed to be so confusing? I have had 10 or more Lexus' and this is the first time I have been disappointed with the car. The shifter is not intuitive...as one of my sons said, "Dad, you can tell this car wasn't designed by Apple".
Is trac necessary?
I found a nice Is400 in good condition that I want to buy. The problem is that it doesn't have the traction control and heated seats package. I don't really care for the heated seats as the car is relatively low priced, but I am for the traction control. Is it necessary? Also the car doesn't start the first time. Is this something I should worry about. And the odometer has been broken for 3 years, but it's a single owner car and has serviced regularly.

Alan Funk one of the original moderators of this forum is in poor heath. He loved solving problems & helping and talking all things about cars especially his 3 Lexuses ! He has a 2007 ES350 w/Ultra-Luxury Package. w/25,000 miles. Amber Pearl w/Cashmere interior. Its only been serviced by Lexus , parked in a private spot and babied…orginal owner of course! I’m wondering if anyone has interest? I haven’t listed this anywhere else as I felt it would be respectful to him for me to present it to the Lexus Owner Club members first.
