2007 rx350 BATTERY DIED, REPLACED MYSELF, NOW IT'S IMMOBILIZED and WON'T START!

Recommended Posts

I can't get my RX350 Un-immobilized.

Battery died, set off immoblizer I'm assuming. Immobilizer red light off now. I took out & replaced with a new battery, type as per manual. (and same as old one). Now I cannot start it.

What 'DOES' work with key in starter -

Dash lights, Clusters special symbols, Horn, & Front Headlights come on. The only bad symbol is the tire gauge symbol, which was on when I bought it. Owners or shop could not get it off. Bad pressure sensor maybe.

What DOESN'T work is -

Radio doesn't even light up, Wipers, Windows won't roll down & Moon roof, Seats, Steering wheel turns but doesn't adjust, Brake pedal doesn't move, and Rear Lights or Hatch doesn't open. HELP!

Battery is testing good. Ignition key turns fine, fob unlocks doors.

Does key need a reprogram? How?

Cld it be a bad relay master?

I'm just at a real loss here. Not been OBD11 tested, I cannot drive it! ALTERNATOR Replaced 2 mos BEFORE I purchased. (I drove for 6 mos before all this happened.)

Thank you! CT~ (female 66yo Master mechanic in family, but he passed away. I do know quite a bit about what's under a hood , just Not This!)

Thank you for the link! I tried resetting/ programming the key in the ignition per instructions on youcanic. It just did not work. Tried it 4 times to make sure I wasn't missing a beat doing it right. I found the 140amp fuse that goes to the Alternator ... I thought the casing looked a bit discolored like a yellowish & tinge of pink. Like maybe it could be a problem. I could not get it out, it's a bit deeper in that box than the others in it. A fuse puller is too small and needle nose pliers just slip right off. Any sugestions?

Oh, something I forgot to mention on my "DOESN'T Work" list ... my Hood doesn't stay up now either. (I'm assuming the hatch door would end up having the same problem if I could even get it open). Fueling up door doesn't open either.  Being NONE of the buttons up front work. My neighbor is 'trying' to help me figure it out looking at forums also. He does most work on his diesel truck, though he's never been around Anything like this! I'll keep posting as I go. Maybe it'll be seen by someone who's encountered all this at once like me. 😉

Sincerely, CT ~

You might want to see if there is a different type of fuse puller that will work. I sometimes pop out a fuse with a flat blade screw driver.

I posted a link to instructions for replacing the hood supports. Regarding hatch doors, I've read some comments about owners' having to adjust the latch. If I can't find a solution using bing.com, I'll try Google but that is a rarity that nothing shows up in bing.

Thank You RX400! The fuse is bolted in I found out. Crazy. I just have to figure out now how to get the bottom of the main fuse box off. I've watched videos & they are All different. Why in the world did Lexus do that!
