Cd Changer

Fellas-

My CD changer on my 1991 Lexus LS400 has decided to quit on me. I took it into an audio professional and they said that the changer has to either be A.) replaced (about 800 at the dealer) OR B.) refurbished (which they said would cost 300 at the place they send it to). Does anyone know of a better way to take care of this problem? Is there a company out there that is reasonable in pricing and you are able to trust to refurbish the CD changer. Thanks for the help, please let me know any/all suggestions that you have.
