Lexus 330 ES 2006 Navigation Screen/radio/etc unresponsive.

Suddenly, when starting the car, the navigation/radio/ entire console display stays in the default opening screen.  After a while, it revealed the navigation map, but radio, etc buttons have to effect.  Any ideas on problem solving this.

Car temperature indoors and outdoors in the 70's.    Car has 90K miles, otherwise in great condition.

What happens when you turn off the vehicle and then restart it? Was the vehicle sitting in the sun for hours without a windshield cover in place?

As stated, temperature of the car was not a factor.  This first happened after sitting in a garage overnight with temperature approximately in the low 70's (F).  Also, turning off the car and trying an hour later had to effect.
