I 'nicked' the wire connection to my fuel pump plug when trying to change it out. I have a new plug, but am unsure as to how best to insure connections are 'dry' inside tank. Any suggestions from my fellow owners? Please? Thanks!

So a live plug connection gets immersed into gasoline?

Actually, yes. The more I looked at it, I realized that ALL of the plugs and wires on this fuel pump assembly are actually exposed, not just the wire that I nicked. I took it over to the auto parts place where I bought the new pump and the guy pointed out the same thing. The plugs that were part of the original design are same 'clip on' types that are under the dash. I replaced the nicked wire, used a wire connector that is a heat shrink type and re-installed it. I don't understand how or why that works, but it does without issue. If anyone can explain it, I would love to hear.
