Bill Hall Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 Why is o/c interval for lc500 5k mi,instead of 10k 1yr?
RX400h Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 I believe you can use the oil change interval algorithm to determine when you should change your oil. Based upon what I've read, the Quote algorithm measures the serviceable oil life according to 3 criteria: crankcase temperature, combustion chamber events (perform the engine does), and moisture (which can be affected by environmental at the same time as internal temps and circumstances). These 3 components are what establish engine oil life. The program is in a position to calculate the serviceable engine oil life to inside (+) or (-) five percent. That being said, my newest vehicle's algorithm tells me to change the oil every year, even though the odometer reading has not gone beyond 3000 miles. When I was driving to work at least three times per week, the algorithm illuminated the maintenance required icon at about 5000 miles.
