Fuel gauge

Recently disconnected the battery because I lost keys locksmiths open the car set the alarm off so we disconnected the to shut off the alarm, replaced the keys reconnected the battery and now fuel gauge is stuck on E! Filled car up twice with gas still stuck on E! Any suggestions

Did you check to see if the fuse is blown? A multimeter can check for continuity across the fuse (or lack thereof).
