2003 LS 430. Erratic Operation of the Multi-Display Panel on LS430

The display panel began displaying erratic numbers/symbols and letters while the car is turned on.  The problem is continuous.  Therefore, there is no time, temperature, or other notifications that appear on the panel.  Does anyone have any idea as to the nature of the problem?  The vehicle has approximately 78,000 miles.  Help please.  Thank you.

Does this happen even when the vehicle is cold, say during early morning?

Sometimes high ambient temperature conditions will have adverse effects on electronic displays. Another possible culprit could be a loose electrical connection.

Dave,  Thank you for responding to my question.   Three days ago, when the problem arose, I had be driving approximately 30 miles.  Later in the evening, I drove to complete a task and the issue was present.   Yesterday, the temp was in the 50's and the issue was still present.   This morning, 12/24/21, I drove to and from an appointment and the issue was not present.   This matter showed itself last summer, 105 degrees in Las Vegas at the time, but normalcy returned at the end of the day.   If it is a loose electrical connection, is it best I go to the dealer in this matter? I hate to part with the vehicle as it has only 78,000 miles.  I'm certainly not a mechanic and I don't know if a "generic" mechanic would have the expertise to fully diagnose and return the issue.  I appreciate your assistance.  Have a nice holiday.

Hello, Dennis. I would surmise that there is a better chance that a technician at the dealership has experienced this before, compared to the chance that an independent shop mechanic has. Some cities have what are called "Auto-Electric" shops that employs electrical troubleshooting specialists. If your city has a shop like this, they may be able to check and possibly solve the problem at lower cost.

Thank you for the response.  I'll contact the dealer with hope they've a mechanic who's familiar with older Lexus vehicles.  Again, thank you for taking the time to assist me.
