JeNeViEvE
We replaced all spark plugs and ignition coils. Still throwing misfire codes and hesitating/cutting out. Checked all SP and IC's and they are functioning correctly. Next step, fuel filter. How do we get to it? Tried removing back seat, it's glued in. Please help. LEXUS ES300 / TOYOTA FUEL FILTER REPLACEMENT - Bing video We can't find the one that's supposed to be in the engine bay under the air cleaner?? I think they might have stopped that one right before the 2002 model. We are just trying to find what's still throwing misfire codes and making it hesitate. So we did do the fuel pump in the gas tank under the seat. Is there another in the engine compartment? We don't see one. If there is in the 2002, can you tell us exactly how to find it, because after doing the fuel pump in the gas tank, it's still hesitating. We will also check out your list. I appreciate all of your help.
RX400h
You're welcome. You may want to call first and then possibly visit a Lexus dealership parts department. The parts person should be able to tell you (by phone), definitively if your car has a fuel filter in the engine bay. If so, he or she should be able to show you (in person) exactly where it is located and even print a copy of an exploded assembly image.
