snapper42 Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 I have a 2004 LS430 that for about 1 year keeps showing the low tire warning. I have cleared the warning with the button hidden under the dash but within a day or two the warning comes back. I don't have a low tire! Is there some way to fix this faulty warning??????
1990LS400 Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 The LS430 used a somewhat crude method that senses tire rotation using the four ABS sensors and compares the rotation rates to determine if one is different from the others. If all the tires match and have similar wear, then the problem could be in the ABS system. Yours is a fairly common problem.
snapper42 Posted November 6, 2020 Author Posted November 6, 2020 Thanks LS400, I bought a new set of Michelin tires about 1 year ago. I can't imagine a problem with one of them. Are you saying that the problem might be in one of the sensors? I take it there is one on each wheel.
1990LS400 Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 I can't tell you where the problem is but only that the ABS system has been one of the causes mentioned n past threads on the Club Lexus forum. Maybe a Lexus dealership tech can diagnose the problem - it's beyond my skills.
