jrulmyr
My 1990 LS400 alarm goes off seemingly at random - like in the middle of the night or afternoon. How can I turn off this feature? It has 145,000 miles, and now has become a tradeoff between fix the increasing number of problems or get rid of it. This problem is particularly tedious. SKperformance
Do you have only the stock alarm or an aftermarket one installed? The stock one needs a door hoodor trunk latch to be opened to sound off. There is no shock sensor on the oem ones.
jrulmyr
thanks for the response. I have the OEM alarm. About a year ago this alarm issue occurred and I assumed a bad circuit was the issue. I unplugged the trunk light and the issue stopped. Now it is happening again, so I'm unsure what to unplug, I would be happy to just stop the alarm itself. I sure don't want to go to a dealer, I would sooner cut the horn wires. What do you suggest?
SKperformance
Check to see if you have the wiring on your trunk lid grounding out,. There is a common problem of the wires going to the lid by the arm breaking. Do a search and you should find it.
