steviej Posted May 18, 2004 Share Posted May 18, 2004 my 02 owners manual also says premium fuel (Octane Rating of 91) is preferred but lessor grades are acceptable. I have been running 89 for the last two tankfuls and haven't had any knocking......YET. I must note the language is tricky. They say 91 is preferred, not required. I believe if premium unleaded fuel is mandatory, then there would be a sticker on the dash board near the fuel gauge say "USE PREMIUM UNLEADED FUEL ONLY" or something like that. steviej Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
