Dome Light Stays On

I have a 2000 ES 300 and the if the dome light is set to door, it stays on even after closing the doors. It only goes off if I start the car. If I set the dome light to off, it does go off.

Any ideas?

did you chect to see if the dome light will eventually go out after let'say 45 seconds to a minute after all doors have been closed? The car has a kind of "opera" lighting system with a delay after the doors are closed when getting out or accessing your keyless entry if it's set to "door" mode. Failing that, I had to have my entire "dome light assembly" replaced (under warranty) because my dome light was only working intermittantly on "door" mode so that might be a possibility as well. Hope this helps. :)
