SC300 passenger door lock not working

The passenger side door lock on my SC300 works manually on the inside of the car,....but does not respond from the outside,...even when I use my electronic key fob. Have checked the interior door lock switches (on both sides) which seem to work,...but even when 'unlocked' the passenger door handle on the outside of the car doesn't work. Anyone else have this problem?

The usual culprit is an inexpensive tiny plastic piece that clips onto the handle. I've changed both of mine. Here's the link on another forum.
