I'm looking into doing this swap....

#1 - I know an SC300 5speed will bolt up to a 2JZ, will it bolt up to a 1JZ?

#2 - Does the 1JZ motor bolt into the stock motor mounts?

#3 - w/ the exception of wiring, what other modifications are required to run the motor? ( I know this is vague, but work with me)

#4 - What maintainance should I do while the motor is out of the car?

Thanks in advance,

Marc

1. I think so.

2. yes

3. some sort of fuel delivery hardware and software - fuel pump, intercooler, gauges, electronics.

You'll need some cajones and $$$ and good jdm parts connection.

Good luck.

Fuel Delivery Hardware: I need to upgrade the fuel pump. What fuel pump do you normally upgrade to? A supra one, walbro, or something else?

Software: If I am obd1 on the car and ecu, I shouldn't need standalone or anything, correct? Will an AFC do the trick?

Thanks,

Marc

Walbro is good - whiney. You could use a mkiv tt pump.

Actually, probably use Soarer GTT - the 1jz ecu to run the motor in stock form would be fine.

Couple more questions.

Are any USDM clutches compatible. I'd assume a Supra or SC clutch should bolt up if the trannies will match up. What do the guys with 2jz's in their SC's do?

Does anybody know what is involved in making the ecu believe the car is in neutral so the auto ecu will work?

Does anybody with the exception of the book that is forsale have a wiring coversion website or anything.

1. You'd have to call on the clutch thing. If it runs the same 5 speed as the SC300 then mkiv 5 speed clutch options will work. You'll have to ask about the 6 speed clutches but I do not think they will work.

2. Get a 5speed ecu from a 5 speed soarer.

3. Not really.
