Engine Light on and Trac light blinking

Hello All.... I am need of some help to figure out exactly what is going on with my "Lexie".  The track light blinks and the check engine light comes on.  

The car hesitates a lot and then shuts off.  I've waited a while and then started the car back up again.  The same thing happens and once the car is warm, the vehicle sounds as if it is going to shut down and then stalls out.  

Anyone know of a way I could fix this problem on my own or is going to a shop the best answer?
