New 2015 Rx F-Sport Towing Question.

I recently bought a new 2015 F-Sport and need to put a trailer hitch on it. Does anyone know if the F-Sport comes standard with the towing pkge? I looked up in front of the drivers side wheel and there are vents in front of the tire and below the fog lights and there is what I think is an oil cooler there. Also, I can see what I think is a place to plug in wiring for a trailer behind the drivers side rear wheel. So it appears to have the towing pkge but it maybe just extra cooling for the F-Sport, I don't know. I've emailed Lexus to try an get a copy of the window sticker but not received anything yet. I bought this in FL but immediately went to NC and the window sticker wasn't in the car.

The towing package was not standard on the 2015 RX350 which I think is a shame since its retail cost was only about $300. You can view the specs at: http://pressroom.lexus.com/releases/2015+lexus+rx+product+specs.htm

... which says that the Towing Package is comprised of a Heavy duty alternator and radiator and a Transmission cooler.

I suppose it is possible that the F-Sport's 8-speed transmission has a transmission cooler that the "regular" 6-speed RX350 transmission does not have as standard.

The transmission cooler should be easy to identify if your RX has one. Assuming it is like the one on my 2014 Sienna which has the same 3.5 liter V6 engine, the transmission cooler is on the bottom of the radiator with two tubes running from it to the transmission.

I found information several places saying that installing a trailer hitch on an RX F-Sport requires either removing and discarding some sort of rear stabilizer strut which only the F-Sport has or attaching the stabilizer strut to the trailer hitch.

That you found an electrical receptacle for a trailer hitch harness may not mean anything. Other Lexus vehicles have a similar receptacle but require additional wiring and sometimes one or more relays which are a separate accessory.

etrailer where I have bought trailer hitches, trailer wiring harnesses and bike racks shows a trailer hitch for the 2015 RX F-Sport: http://www.etrailer.com/hitch-2015_Lexus_RX+350.htm They also show a wiring harness: http://www.etrailer.com/t1-2015_Lexus_RX+350.htm

Well there is nothing saying there is a tow pkge on the window sticker, salesman says the F-Sports / AWD do come with the pkge standard. Anyway, I tore into the rear and found the trailer connector/converter was there behind the passenger rear wheel. I installed the Curt hitch and plugged in the Curt t-connector behind the passenger rear wheel and the trailer lights all work fine.

I just found a 2013 RX brochure that indicates that the components of the towing preparation package are standard on the F-Sport but optional on the regular RX and the RXh ( http://www.lexus.com/documents/brochures/2013/2013-Lexus-RX-Brochure.pdf ) so that seems to verify what your salesman said.
