Maloo 2008 Posted July 27, 2015 Share Posted July 27, 2015 Hi, A couple of months ago I notice the car was dropping oil in the drive way. Just a drop here and there but I am anal about oil leaks so after much looking around and changing what looked like the oil pressure sensor switch leaking I completely degreased the engine and after about a week noticed a couple of drops of oil on the a/c compressor. I traced this with a torch and mirrors and found the left hand rocker cover was leaking. Further investigated it and found that the cover retaining bolts were lose as was the r/h cover. I tightened these (and yes very very difficult to get to) and all has been good for around 8 months. The oil leak has re started itself and before I attempt to remove the left hand rocker cover can anyone tell me if it can me removed with the engine in the vehicle. I know this sounds like a dumb question but it looks like there is no room to be able to twist it past the strut area of the body. I am assuming by the way this is the problem as the oil is coming from the same area and tightening the cover had the desired effect but unfortunately the leak has started again.
