:( Just want to start by saying hello to everyone.

My name is Sharon and I'm the proud owner of a 1996 SC400.

It has the origional integrated CD/Cassette player.

The CD skips all the time and so i decided to Invest in a external cd/mp3 player

keeping it in the glove compartment and connecting it to the cassette deck using a adaptor... you know the type a cassette with a wire connecting it to the cd in the glove compartment...

the problem is the cassette deck in the car is acting up..

I now have no music as the cassette deck keeps clicking as if its trying to change the side of the tape and then spits it out..............

tried different adaptors and origional cassettes and the problem stays..

Please help me out here with ideas???? Links??? Parts????

thank you.

Sharon.

If the cassete mechanisim is no good then u have to take it out and fix it take it to a repair guy.

OUR Purchase an RF Modulator That will make ur MP3 Player work from your FM Station. Should be cheap and i believe you can get one from Sharper Image. Etc.

thank you for taking the time to reply,

I was hoping to buy another mechinism either for the cd... with mp3 playback as well as standard audio cd...

or a new tape unit?

In other words a magic website or something like that..

the problem i currently face when considering buying a new cd or tape is fitting it without loosing the cd/tape interface? I like it.....

Sharon :cries:

P.S. can you tell me more about the rf fm unit... but I think I really want to have it hardwired?

Is there a reason why you don't fix your CD changer? Since you mentioned your Changer is skipping, it sounds like the headunit of the Player needs to be replaced. I've also noticed that you live in Ireland. Have you attempted to contact one of the Moderators on the UK Forum. They may have a place for you to send the unit.

You should also checkout, "General FAQ- and Audio links, turbo info. common problems". My fellow Moderators and I have Pinned at the top of the SC Forum, and this will be very useful to anyone.
