Radio Problem

I,ve got an 92 SC400,the Nakamichi radio lites up with the ignition but the only sound I get is like a fast heartbeat out of the speakers,very bass-y,our local audio guy hasn,t got any idea where to start,any help is appreciated,thanks.Russ Smyth

Amplifier....Trunk in the wheel well..Probably got wet.
