kmo Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 How do you reset the engine immobilizer system? I started the car up just fine, got where I needed to go, turned it off and pulled the key out of the ignition. I saw that I was a little far from the curb and decided to re-park, but the engine wouldn't turn over. The lights on the dash lit up so I don't believe it's a battery problem (not to mention it turned on just fine 2 minutes earlier). Could it be the engine immobilizer/anti-theft system? Can that be reset by me or does it have to go to the dealer?
MBman Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 could be neutral saftey switch and it still could be battery. Unlike days of old, the batteries these day can go "just like that" good one minute , gone the next. The fact that your lights turned on is not an indication the battery is good
