I have a 1998 LS400. A local auto parts dealer check for trouble codes and informed me that P1351 & P1354 codes show up as issues. The dash also lights up with a "check VSC" message. When idling at stop lights the engine runs rough but at higher speeds there is no sign of roughness. The car has 233,000 + miles. Can any help me on what the problem may be & how to fix it?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

my first 99 had those codes, and I pulled the oil control valve out of the driver side head and cleaned it, making sure it had plenty of "snap" to it, and also cleaned the port it goes in, put it back and no more light. mine never ran/idled bad, just the light.. it was wrote up, do a search on the trouble codes and you can see it(photos)

here it is... I used carb cleaner.. this is the driver side, the other is on the front of the head also, just have to remove more stuff...
