Distributed , rotors and spark plug plus cables changed at 90,000 ------------------- PROBLEM :Last week during rain the car stopped , but started in five minutes. Last week , I changed the battery yesterday the car idled rough as if on only 4 cylinders I shifted to neutral and gunned the engine. The car became smooth again What gives? sha4000 Posted May 17, 2014 Share Posted May 17, 2014 Is your check engine light on? If the cylinders were not firing properly it would trigger a code. If so go to aotuzone and they will pull the codes for free and give you a printout of the codes with a slight description, Then let us know what they say. landar Posted May 17, 2014 Share Posted May 17, 2014 If you changed the battery because the old one was weak (maybe dead?) there is a good chance that the ECU was relearning fuel settings that were lost when the battery was out.
