tcrespi
When replacing the 1616 is it necessary to remove the 3 screws on the inner unit of the key or is there some way to do so without removing 3 screws. We own 3 Lexus models and have 3 totally different keys and battery set ups! Any help that includes a diagram, instructions, photos or perhaps a U-Tube link would be greatly appreciated. Tried all above before asking w/o success. Thank you.
zilch
I just replaced batteries in both keys and it was pretty easy to remove the screws with a quality philips "0" bit. I don't see any way that I could have changed the battery without removing the screws. The single screw holding the key body to the internals did have little Loctite on it, but the two inside on the battery cover came out real easy. They are small, but it took 5 minutes to do. 1990LS400
Stores like Batteries Plus where I live change the key batteries at no charge when I buy new ones and have the correct tiny screwdrivers to do it.
