PrsAnyKey69 Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 i justy bought a 2004 IS 300 and i installed a AEM short ram. I was told by AEM that the egine light would come on and my traction light also flashes on and off and the traction button doesnt work. Lexus told me that the TRAC button on the 2004 was connected to the engine light. I dunno never heard of that b4. After a week or so the light goes off by itself. Is there any way to fix this other than disconnecting the negative term on the battery. Maybe i should put the stock air box back. I talked to alot of people and from what im told is there is NO COLD AIR INTAKE FOR THIS CAR> THERE ISNT ENOUGHT ROOM FOR IT TO BE INSTALLED AND ALL GOOD COMPANIES ONLY MAKE SHORT RAM INCLUDING INJEN STILLEN AEM K&N... NE ONE GOT INFO FOR ME ON THIS??? PLEASE HELP??????
bartkat Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 Usually the CEL problem with intakes is the relocation of the MAF and it gives a false reading, setting off the alarm. Also, a heat shield and/or air deflector is needed too keep turbulence away from the filter. Resetting the ECU can help, but this is usually only temporary, and the CEL comes back. The only real solutions would be an adjustable engine management system, or go back to stock.
