Cupholder Cover

Cupholder cover won't close and lock - springs back to open - anyone have an idea what might be causing this? Thanks

We won't go into how poorly designed SC430 cupholders are.

That whole mechanism is made of plastic so i't possible something broke. BUT maybe not. Is it possible a drink spilled and some skicky residue from that is gumming-up the mechanism? You might want to try cleaning it with a little spray cleaner like Windex or 409. If you're sure there hasn't been a spill, perhaps a little silicon spray lubricant might work.

Then there's always console disassembly...

I have an entire cup holder unit for sale. Not sure what part is damaged in yours but you can swap cover/guts from one to another. It's what I did.
