Lexus Idleing Chopping Sound

My 1992 lexus sc300 when idleing has a chopping sound onnly for less than the minute but it sounds like the fan or the belt right by the fan rubbig against something maybe? Please help

It may be the pre-tensioner bearings are going or gone.

if it comes from the front of the engine then it sounds like that.

Get it checked and changed out. When was the last time the cambelt was changed?

exactly what you said. Also check the harmonic balancer and see if it coming apart. Those are compressed together in two pieces..
