2001 Gs300 Hood Will Not Close And Lock

2001 GS300, the hood will not lock down and shut. I tried the WD40 and that did not work, any other suggestions please!

I've had that problem. What I do now is take pliers, go under the dash where the hood latch is at. Squeeze the cable that attach to the hood latch & push it up into the dash until the latch is flush. Then your hood will close. Common problem with 2nd gen GS

Thanks Charles, I just walked into the garage and tried it, Lord and behold, it worked. Appreciate that a lot, I was looking forward to spending 300 bucks at the Lexus dealer, LOL. I was suppose to be gone out by 2 and was not going anywhere with the trunk open.
