Heya!

Ok so new to the forum and yes it's b/c I have a question (I know, I know) but here goes:

Any ideas why my keyless entry doesn't work?

Here's the info:

My 92 SC400 was down to one master key w/ a broken upper. So I bought two new keys and a matching ROM from the dealer (very expensive) and swapped the ROM chip. The new masters were cut and they work fine locking, unlocking and starting the car but the keyless entry is a no go. The batteries are fresh in the keys and the receiver ECU is hooked back up proper. Even though I don't think the reprogramming sequence applies to the old style keys, I still did it several times (my neighbor now thinks I have OCD btw).

Turn the key to the on position and tune the radio to 94.5. Then press the unlock button down for a few seconds and see if the radio goes silent. if so the key is transmitting out, must be the receiver or ecu in the passenger side rear compartment. Mine has quit also and I replaced all related components and still a no go. I just decided to get a aftermarket alarm with this function.
