Resetting Tpms With New Tires. Three Blinks, But No Pressure Initial

I followed the manual-

ig-on, engine off.

hold the tpms set button under the steering column.

tpms light blinks slowly 3 times. but I don't see PRESSURE INITIAL message on the odometer screen.

turn ig-off after waiting a few minutes.

I'm pretty sure the tpms set correctly, as it blinked 3 times, then turned off.

am i supposed to be on a specific screen to see the PRESSURE INITIAL message?

nevermind, the instructions are wrong.

you have to start the car, not leave it on ig-on.
