Hi all

How can I remonve the metal ball socket of the old hood support from the mounting bracket (the one srewed to the chassis, see pict 1) and install the new one - a Stabilus Lift-O-Matgas charged lift suppot - part number SG229012 I bought last week (pic 2). The new one has came without the metal bracket and I am trying to re-use the one currently I can not disconnect from the old support rod.

I found one topic on this (other model of Lexus) even with a one-page pdf from som repar manual (attahced pdf) but it did not talking about removing the metal ball from the mounting bracket.
