fan25100
I used an OBD 2 error code reader on the 1998 Lexus gs400. After getting the codes, I disconnected the reader, but the key was stuck in the ignition - I could not get it from the ON position to the OFF, so it could be pulled out. I disconnected the battery and the key came out easily. Upon re-connecting the battery, however, the alarm goes off continuously and the car will not start. I can turn the key in the ignition, but even the lights don't come on. Please, help!
1990LS400
I'm far from an expert on this but it sounds like your master ignition key has somehow become unregistered. I can't guarantee this is what you need to do but attached are instructions on how to program a key. 1998 LS400 key programming.pdf
