Tiger1 Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 1999 Lexus 400 LS I'm a newbie here and believe that I am posting in the appropriate area. I've owned my Lexus for about 10 years and still love it. It's garage kept and serviced regularly. Recently, the low windshield washer fluid indicator came on and so I refilled the reservoir. The warning light went out and all was well for a few days. Then, although the washer had not been used much, the low washer fluid indicator warning light came back on again. I checked the reservoir and low and behold, it was almost empty. I re-filled the reservoir and looked for leaks under the car, but couldn't detect anything. The pump sounded normal, fluid came out as expected on the windshield. However, I noticed a small stream of water immediately started flowing out the front of the wheel well each time the washer was engaged. I'm assuming that there is a leak in the reservoir or a problem with a line. Is there any place I can get instructions on getting access to the reservoir and lines to check for leaks? Thanks.
1990LS400 Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Access to the reservoir and pumps (and to replace front marker light bulbs) is through the wheel well. You might be able get enough access by loosening just the front of the wheel well liner.
