Mark Levinson Removal Of Sub And Add Amp

What is the correct way to add an external amp to the Mark levinson system? Also, what is the correct way to disconnect the subwoofer for the system? It seems it would be like any other system, where if there in no load demand in a channel there is no power going through that unhooked channel? If that is the case then I am not sure that there would be an issue if you don't have a speaker hooked up. However I am not an expert so I could be waaayyy off.

Thanks again!

The ML system IMO is not as simple as your basic OEM radio/amp. The surround sound unit uses 19 speakers and 450 watts with a custom crossover network that is balanced for each speaker. It is difficult to just rip out the sub and replace it with an aftermarket that will match the crossover and the impedance.

I see you posted this thread in another forum. I think "jaswood" would be a good resource for the technical aspects of this problem.

Also, if you unplug you present sub and just leave the wire loose without a lood you will still be drawing current from the amp.
