My 94SC300 auto trans just took a dump, I work at a shop and can rebuild the thing, but really I'd much rather have a manual, preferably from a supra of course.

Possible right? But is it probable. I'm think about going turbo in the next year maybe so Supra OE would be my first choice over the Lexus manual tranny.

Anyone done a auto to manual swap? Cause I havn't yet and could use all the help I could get.

Thank you Thank you

Very possible Theres a few different options for manual trannys tho, theres the w58 witch came stock in the NA mk4 supras and 5spd sc300s,

the r154 witch came in the mk3 twin turbo supras, and the v160 witch came in the twin turbo mk4 supra.

If your going to go turbo what your goals for hp?

w58 = 5 speed $200-600, can handle 350 rwhp, 400 gently, seen people with 450+

154 = 5 speed $600 - 1000, around 450- 500 rwhp

v160 = 6 speed around $3k, as much power as you can put into it, it can probably handle

Most people pay around 2k for a 5speed swap, but if you look for good deals and do all the work by yourself it could be done for $1100 - 1400, for the w58 swap

Yes, the auto can be swapped for a manual v160, v158, or the w58. there is some modification needed other than a custom drive shaft and others, but there is an alternative you could consider.

I've talked to a JZZ engine builder in my area and he re-builds transmissions as well. So an alternative transmission would be a tiptronic transmission available on the RZ-S vvti 2JZ engines. You could also try that as an option.
