09 Is250 Awd ... Oil Change Questions

Not sure if I want to go into synthetics yet as they are quite expensive and also my car is only about 35,000 KM (Yes I'm in Canada).

1. Just in terms of conventional oil, what's a good choice for an 09 IS250 AWD? I see the Castrol GTX on sale for $4/L at Canadian Tire and wonder about how many KM that oil can hold up (I've only done my service at the dealer so far and they recommend 8000KM for the OE oil).

2. Any filter recommendations other than the OE Lexus/Toyota one? I use Bosch on my 07 Acura RDX but I can't find it for the IS250 on the website where I buy parts.

3. This guy that runs a garage near my house (friend recommended so I seem to trust him) carries LiquiMoly 5W40 (some oil from Europe)....anyone have any idea?
