Tires Need Tpms? & Wheels Offset?

Hi Everyone!

Eager to pickup my RX350 tomorrow! :)

One question i am wondering ...

is if we NEED TPMS on the (winter) tires if I am to buy a separate set.

Just spoke to a tire person ..

He said if the tires don't have TPMS, there will be a constant beep and dashboard warning light ...

can anyone confirm?

He also said that because of the large OFFSET of the RX350,

17" is not recommended ...

what is the OFFSET of the RX350 anyways?

If I am to look for a 17", do i have to get the OFFSET to be MORE than the RX350's Offset?

*confused* ...

Thank you so much!

A warning light will stay on if TPMS are not installed or tire pressure is off. More importantly, several states require TPMS if the vehicle came that way. Here is a list of states: http://www.tirerack.....jsp?techid=214

Not sure what the regs are in Canada, however.

As for the off-set, I also go to TireRack (no I don't work for them) - enter your make, model, year and search for wheels - then look at the specs and they will tell you.

Good luck!
