Jarebear Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 So here's the deal. In the morning my Ls will rev up higher than usual at first pull away. I've read some threads where they say this is just a cold start and the computer locks it out to warm up the fluids. It will always ALWAYS switch exactly at 2500 when this happens from 2nd to 3rd gear. However, the dealer told me that it will need a new transmission in the future. It drives fine the rest of the day. Does everyone think this is a computer locking out the transmission or is it just a bad tranny going out?
1990LS400 Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 It's absolutely normal. My 2000 LS400 does the same thing - especially noticeable on cooler mornings.
curiousB Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 However, the dealer told me that it will need a new transmission in the future. I'd stop going to that dealer........
jaswood Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 However, the dealer told me that it will need a new transmission in the future. I'd stop going to that dealer........ Or ANY (St,d)ealer, except for initial purchase.
