TexasSteve Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 New owner of a 1993 Sc400 with the Nak unit. I cannot find any info on how this is setup.Does the head unit{part you see in the car} have it's own power or is it all powered by the amp in the trunk? I am wanting to fix,or upgrade. to aftermarket things I need to make my system sound better. First week I had the car it was great. Now I am getting a poping sound when I reach a certain loudness,& also my front passanger side speaker quit working. The factory woofer is plenty for me & hopefully I can wire in a new head unit & be ok Any help appreciated. DavisSteve58@Gmail.com :)
TexasSteve Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 WoW!! that search feature is awesome!! After more reading,[sorry] I see I will be better off to keep my head unit & replace speakers & amp. Are they're other amps that will hook up? Thanks Steve
1990LS400 Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 In case you didn't already find one, here is a diagram for the 93 SC400 Nakamichi system. It's from the ARRC website. 1993 SC400 Nakimichi diagram.pdf
TexasSteve Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 I dont know what I'm looking at but I will take it w/ me to my stereo guy. Thankyou for responding Steve
Jackster Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Yes the head unit is very nice although I will be replacing it with a double din touch screen one like I had in my Volvo. I pulled off my door panels a few days ago to do some work on them and I was a bit let down to see that the speakers where Pioneer, I'm a Kenwood fan but you can't have it all.
TexasSteve Posted October 19, 2011 Author Posted October 19, 2011 IF AMPS CHECK OUT OK,I am going to do door speakers first.....probably going Memphis Audio
