Jets1627 Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 So that others know... My '08 ES350 had been making a humming noise when I turned (even slightly) to the left and the car was going 45 to 65mph. There was no vibration. I took to the dealer and sure enough it's the RIGHT wheel bearing that needs replacement...and with only 35k miles. Is this common?
lenore Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 From what I have read on these forums and Toyota Highlander forums this does happen...I kind of feel it must be poor seals on the bearing causeing the failure or poor lubrication grease in the bearing...the part is about $57 but the labor is the killer...Also that is just for the bearing, some may replace the whole hub/bearing assembly which is probably the way to go...I have replaced the bearing on my old RX300 and it was not as easy as I thought...
