Jamie Randall Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Hello, I have a 97 ES300 that I'm installing a new Pioneer head unit in, since the LCD went out on the original unit. I wanted to keep the rest of the system original, and use the existing amplifier, so I bought the wiring kit to connect it to the new unit with RCA jacks. The unit powers up fine, but the amplifier does not. Apparently, there must be a trigger wire in the original plug that activates the amp. I'd love to connect that wire to the switched output wire from my stereo, but there is no mention anywhere of what that wire looks like. Does anyone have any information about which wire turns on the amplifier?
1990LS400 Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 You should be able to figure it out with the attached audio system diagram for the 1997 ES300. It's from the subscription based ARRC website which is available through many public libraries. 1997 ES300 audio diagram.pdf
