trekguy77 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 ...an 07 LS460 with 61000 miles, $8100 in options, and the dreaded wind noise? The car is super clean, one owner and priced at $37k before trade. Should I ask the dealer to perform the J.Cearney wind noise fix as part of the deal, or have them perform the Lexus TSB fix by replacing the front side glass? The valve springs were fixed and the car has a warranty to 100k miles. Thanks!
SW03ES Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 So you yourself have heard the wind noise? I wouldn't do it.
trekguy77 Posted April 1, 2011 Author Posted April 1, 2011 Yes. As soon as the car approached 35 mph, I heard it.
trekguy77 Posted April 3, 2011 Author Posted April 3, 2011 I guess the triangle replacement works with good results.
SW03ES Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 With good results... The fact of the matter is that a lot of these cars were bought back by Lexus... I don't think I would buy an LS that has the wind noise problem IMHO
trekguy77 Posted April 3, 2011 Author Posted April 3, 2011 Thanks for your input; I am leaning in that direction as well. I may just put 2 new rear tires on the ES and wait for the redesign.
