  1. 90% of the time, I use the ES on the highway. The other 10% is in a smart fortwo.
  2. Thanks for your input; I am leaning in that direction as well. I may just put 2 new rear tires on the ES and wait for the redesign.
  3. Here in Ohio, the cops are everywhere and don't like speeders. 10 mph over is taking a chance, depending on what mood they are in. I can easily attain 30 mpg on regular fuel on my '08 ES. Highest observed mpg was once 35.9, but that was at 50 mph and ECON mode on climate control sysytem. Why buy a hybrid?
  4. I guess the triangle replacement works with good results.
  5. Yes. As soon as the car approached 35 mph, I heard it.
  6. ...an 07 LS460 with 61000 miles, $8100 in options, and the dreaded wind noise? The car is super clean, one owner and priced at $37k before trade. Should I ask the dealer to perform the J.Cearney wind noise fix as part of the deal, or have them perform the Lexus TSB fix by replacing the front side glass? The valve springs were fixed and the car has a warranty to 100k miles. Thanks!
  7. My 2008 has unlit buttons as well, and the other night I mistakenly opened up the sunroof instead of the garage door (6 degrees out and 2 inches of snow on the roof), but only a few pieces of snow fell inside, on the passenger seat. Now, I always use the ambient lighting feature. I assume the dim-lit white light referred to is Lexus' lame attempt of ambient interior lighting. My $33k 2008 VW R32 had lit homelink buttons.
  8. I am satisfied with the interior lighting in the ES. I assume from your reply that the LS has NO ambient interior lighting?
  9. Hi there

I too am a former Phaeton owner...loved every minute of driving it and miss it to a degree. I was out of warranty, so it was time to sell. Driving an ES 350 today.

  10. ...any kind of ambient interior lighting? I am considering moving from an '08 ES350, which has 4 led's in the roof to subtly illuminate the interior, plus the front footwells are dimly lit as well. Also, would you consider the LS to be... 1. somewhat quieter 2. substantially quieter 3. about the same ... than the Es? Thanks so much
  11. I was in a Lexus showroom yesterday looking at the new 2010 ES, and I noticed they eliminated the white ambient LED lighting in the ceiling. I'm glad I have an '08, as I use this feature at night. Cost cutting?
